5000 Dollari sull'asso is a Western film that was directed by Alfonso Balcazar in 1965 and starred Robert Woods, Fernando Sancho, Helmut Schmid and Maria Sebaldt.
It's a movie that diverged from the Spaghetti Western genre that was developing in that period, more prone to satisfy the classic Hollywood audience.
The great cast featured Robert Woods as the protagonist and the terrible Fernando Sancho in an unusual role, with the two unlikely allies joining up to fight the baddies.
And the score? A soundtrack by the popular maestro Angelo Francesco Lavagnino—rightfully among the fathers of Italian film music— who created a wide-open score more like those in American Westerns, without that Italian touch that made our own scores so unique.
This expanded CD features a lot of unreleased music compared with the previous CAM edition and is in presented in jewel case format with mastering by Claudio Fuiano, liner notes by John Mansell featuring the collaboration of the actor Robert Woods, and a 12-page booklet full of original artwork edited by Alessio Iannuzzi.
