Original Soundtrack from the Theater Play (MUSIC ONLY)
A BEAUTIFUL SYMPHONIC PERIOD SCORE
Bene was our Italian Shakespeare: he played Shakespeare all his life (such as Hamlet or Richard III); he studied Shakespeare, not to represent his poetics or poetry in the same way the others did, but to focus on his theatrical vision. Shakespeare is always considered as a sacred monument by actors and critics and this means his works can't be modified following different logic than academy traditions; according to Bene's theory, this is a wrong perspective because it doesn't follow the idea of theatre Shakespeare had practiced. He theorized Shakespeare as a modern model of "actor-author": someone who writes and performs his dramas, always ready and able to revolt against the written text in order to express all the oral and physical forces which can happen clearly during the performance. It also means the actor is more important than the playwright.
He was a complete Director: he directed and played his works, very close for style and features to main aspects of underground performances aesthetics.
