For the absolute first time, we are releasing the complete edition CD of the OST by Riz Ortolani for the film "Make Love, Not War" (aka "Non faccio la guerra, faccio l'amore").
SOUNDTRACK
Riz Ortolani composed a pleasant symphonic OST dominated by a romantic main theme. It's introduced with horns and performed by trumpet and orchestra in the opening credits, and then reprised throughout the soundtrack in a series of captivating variations. The motif is alternated with romantic moods, suspense pieces, jazz and folk music, the brilliant Latin American theme for the billionaire Don Getullio, and a wild shake. Originally C.A.M. had only released a 45 rpm (C.A.M. AMP 13) with two mono tracks. For this CD, we were able to access the masters from the original recording session which was entirely in stereo. Here we have another CD that enriches the discography of one of the most beloved composers in the world.

PLOT
Twenty years after the end of the war, a German submarine has not yet surrendered and floats around in the ocean with an officer on board, a somewhat silly crew, and Ombrina, a girl who was saved from a shipwreck when she was only a year old and adopted by the crewmen. One day, a South American billionaire named don Getullio stops his yacht near the submerged submarine. Ombrina is sent to raid the luxurious boat for provisions. She meets Nicola, the doctor on board, and captures him. The commander then punishes her to a period of imprisonment on a desert island where she coincidentally meets Nicola again. The two young people find a reason to live through their mutual love and they are married by the captain. The captain discovers Ombrina is Don Getullio's daughter, so while their submarine starts to sink, the captain takes over the yacht and brings his crew aboard. Ombrina and Nicola decide to choose freedom and swim away towards a joyful life.
