In collaboration with EMI Music Publishing France, Music Box Records presents the remastered and expanded edition of Michel Colombier's score to the 1974 drama film Le Hasard et la Violence (Chance and Violence), starring Yves Montand and Katharine Ross, and directed by Philippe Labro (The Inheritor, Hunter Will Get You).
This drama film stars Yves Montand (The Wages of Fear, Grand Prix, Z, Jean de Florette) and Katherine Ross (The Graduate, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, The Stepford Wives). It tells the love story between a criminologist (Montand) and a fellow doctor (Ross). For the movie's cold atmosphere, Michel Colombier composed a romantic score with dramatic variations on the same theme and beautiful writing for strings. The title song is performed by Drupi.
Supervised by Claudio Fuiano, the greatly expanded score for Le Hasard et la Violence has been fully remastered from the recording session tapes and includes previously unreleased tracks.
The package includes an 8-page booklet with liner notes by Nicolas Magenham, discussing the film and the score.
