Digitmovies continues its journey into the Italian Western genre by releasing for the first time on CD the complete OST in mono by Carlo Savina for the movie "La colt è la mia legge" (aka "The Colt Is My Law") directed in 1965 by Alfonso Brescia and starring Anthony Clark (aka Angel del Pozzo),Luciana Gilli, Miguel De la Riva, Peter White. Renato Chiantoni, Germano Longo, Luis Davila, Milo Quesada. Peter is engaged by Mr.O'Brien, the richest land owner of that territory who has a niece becoming engaged to George, a spoilt dandy. In fact the powerful land owner is the boss of a gang which for a long time has been robbing stagecoaches passing through that territory. Then suddenly a mysterious masked knight, a kind of Zorro who seems to appear from nowhere, begins to fight gaainst these criminal actions. The gang and its chief O'Brien will be defeated by Peter (a federal agent on a special mission) and by the mysterious defender of justice (George, a dandy only on the outside). To realize this project we had a big support from Daniele De Gemini and friends at Beat Records who have rescued the session master tapes in mono preserved in the archives of the Savina estate. Carlo Savina has written a short, but remarkable OST which features an epic Deguello main theme for trumpet, guitars, harmonica and orchestra (Tr.1), repeated with a slow and magic version (Tr.2,Tr.7), march-like (Tr.9) and in the "Finale" (Tr.18), alternated with action and suspense music (Tr.3, Tr.8,Tr.10, Tr.11,Tr.13, Tr.17). A right and proper rescue and preservation of the Italian Silver Age and of the film music of Carlo Savina.
