AKA: Beast in Space (USA)
Die Bestie aus dem Weltraum (West Germany)
Limited edition of 500 copies.
1980, Alfonso Brescia directs a weird sci-fi with Shirpa Lane, Venantino Venantini ad mythical Zork, a robot that misses some gears that administer a planet full of Antalium (precious stuff, indeed) in a singular way. This is the plot upon which M° Giombini is called to compose a score, and considering the story, his strong experience in the experimental electronic field will prove to be the winning choice that will confer the movie a genial soundtrack. We see on the screen grotesque scenes, in between sublime and horrid, in the background a score that reflects space-retro atmospheres that permeates the movie, from time to time we have dynamic accelerations, particularly true when the scene gets a bit… hot! A little masterpiece of electronic experimentation that remembers us German sonorities such as Kraftwerk or Peter Thomas sci fi scores.
An ideal background for a lounge galactic bar… maybe in the future, in that comfortable Alpha Centauri satellite with warm climate or on a Saturn astral base with a good sight on the rings. The good piece of news is that you can already listen today to this music, so, what are you waiting for?
The CD is released in jewel case edition with 12 pages booklet, mastering by Claudio Fuiano, liner notes by Fabio Babini and graphic layout by Daniele De Gemini.
