Digitmovies proudly presents for the very first time on CD the complete OST in mono by Gianni Ferrio for the spy movie "Black Box affair: il mondo trema" (aka "Black Box Affair") directed in 1966 by James Harris (Marcello Ciorciolini) and starring Craig Hill, Teresa Gimpera, Louis Marin, Rolf Tasna, Patricia Car, Valentino Macchi. Georges Rigaud, George Wang, Luis Marín, Rossella Bergamonti, Moa Tahi,Herbert Montureano. An airplane crashes in Spain. The Russian as well as the Chinese government take care of the events because on board there was a "black box" containing precious and dangerous devices for the whole world. Joe Grant (Hill), who works for the American counter-espionage, is assigned to the rescue with continuous sensational developments where he travels to many resorts from Spain to Italy, and also visits the Côte d'Azur and Vienna. Gianni Ferrio (Vicenza, 1924) is one of the big names of film music and of the Italian television entertainment of the last fifty years. This CD is possible thanks to the friends at C.A.M. in whose archives the complete master tapes in mono of the original session have been stored. For the fans of "amatriciana pasta sauce espionage" and for those of the Lounge and Beat music this CD will represent something special. M° Ferrio has written a cool Shake main theme varied in every possible way and introduced in the version of "Titoli" with vocals of I Cantori Moderni di Alessandroni (Tr.1) and reprised in "Finale" (Tr.22). This wild motif returns in different arrangements with flugelhorns in Tr.3,Tr.5,Tr.7, romantic and suspended with harp, celesta and flute (Tr.11), with electric guitars for scenes of the young people dancing in a discotheque (Tr.13), with harpsichord, rhythm group, flute and electric bass (Tr.15), and with faster tempo, flugelhorns and organ effects (Tr.17). M° Ferrio alternates this recurring motiv with dramatic music as for the scene with the plane going down in Spain (Tr.2) and action music (Tr.16,Tr.19), as well as with romantic themes which act as background to the "Casanova" side of the protagonist (Tr.4,Tr.6,Tr.8,Tr.14,Tr.21)according to the place where the secret agent travels to there is also music with geographical colours like a sweet French waltz (Tr.10), Latin American music (Tr.12), a Vienna style piece of music (Tr.20). Our CD ends with the off-vocal versions of "Titoli" and "Finale".A proper tribute to the Italian Silver Age and to the musical art of Gianni Ferrio.
