Un posto all'inferno (aka A Place in Hell, Tote faulen in der Sonne and L'enfer des Philippines) is a war movie directed in 1968 by Giuseppe Vari. During World War II, in Japan, a war correspondent narrowly survives a bombing raid and takes refuge with another soldier on an island under Japanese control. Hidden in the forest, the two seek to destroy an enemy radar with the help of some Marines. Roberto Pregadio (Catania, December 6, 1928 - Rome, November 15, 2010) was a composer, pianist and Italian conductor who gained widespread fame thanks to his work on the television program La corrida. From the second half of the '60s through the early '80s, Pregadio composed numerous soundtracks for cinema. Thanks to the stereo master tapes being stored in excellent condition we were able to release this score for the first time ever, resulting in this CD with a running time of 52:36. Maestro Pregadio composed a heroic military march, a nostalgic love theme for piano and orchestra with horns, evocative atmospheres of tension and mystery colored with Oriental elements for the battlefields in the tangled jungle occupied by Japanese troops and swing music for the scene in the bar at the beginning of the film. We include as a rarity the alternate version of the Main Titles performed by a male choir.
