The critically acclaimed 2008 Hong Kong crime thriller The Beast Stalker swept a handful of awards, including an unprecedented seven Best Actor accolades for star Nick Cheung. Two years later, director Dante Lam deals another powerful blow with the highly anticipated follow-up The Stool Pigeon, which features a brand-new and likely more explosive storyline. Many of the original's cast members come back for the second serving, including Nick Cheung and Nicholas Tse as a conflicted cop and the informant he put in dire situations, respectively.
For the Original Soundtrack album of The Stool Pigeon, the first film's composer Henry Lai (Echoes of the Rainbow, Three Kingdoms: Resurrection of the Dragon) is brought back to conjure up another musical masterpiece. Complementing the film's thrilling story, the strings-based score expresses the complex psychology of the characters, and its emotional impact will surely stay with the audience long after the film ends.
