Limited edition of 1000 copies.
A double CD with the 112 musical minutes composed by Michel Legrand for Richard Brooks's classic, starting Jean Simmons, his wife in those days. In 'The Happy Ending', Legrand handed in the director an elaborated, assorted, enthusiastic and complex score which worked as a connecting threat for this story about marriage failure. This is one of Legrand's greatest classics and one of the Sixties best soundtracks where the beautiful song 'What are you doing the rest of your life?', sung by Michael Dees, stands out among another good pocketful of songs, all of them with lyrics by Alan and Marilyn Bergman.Having been edited before in a very limited Film Score Monthly 'MGM Classic Treasure' box, and sold out and unlisted few hours after its launching, this is a new opportunity to approach this Michel Legrand's masterpiece. Keeping the FSM meticulous production, this new remastered edition includes a 20 pages booklet with a great amount of color stills from the film and a thorough text by its original producer, Lukas Kendall.
