At almost 100 years from Piero Piccioni's birth (1921) a new definitive edition of one of his most beautiful soundtrack, including rare tracks and previously unreleased material. Scacco alla regina (aka"The slave") is a comedy with dramatic/erotic tones directed in 1969 by Pasquale Festa Campanile. The composer perfectly describes the atmosphere of the movie. Themes are sometime slow and tender, sometime mysterious and psychedelic, sometime wild and fast. A beat music vein is always present and everything is enriched by the use of a special instrument: Edda Dell'Orso's crystal voice. In this new edition Cinevox Record added ten previously unreleased tracks from original stereo master tapes: fascinating alternate takes and film versions. The album also includes Blue Rhythm Festival from Bora, Bora used during the sequence of the night party at the villa.
