FBI OPERAZIONE VIPERA GIALLA (FBI OPERATION YELLOW VIPER) is as Euro Spy movie directed in 1966 by Alfredo Medori and starring Hellmut Lange, Adeline Wagner and Peer Schmidt. The story follows an FBI agent who's up against a dangerous criminal gang that takes its name from the yellow viper's deadly poison which they use for their lethal poison-tipped arrows.
It's a title of great interest to Beat Records since it's completely unreleased and was composed in one of the most creative periods of Maestro de Masi's career (during which he composed some of the most beautiful Spy-Jazz scores ever, including Troppo per vivere… poco per morire, Colpo maestro al servizio di Sua Maestà Britannica, FBI operazione Pakistan, Le spie uccidono in silenzio, Agente Z55 missione disperata, Sinfonia per due spie, etc.).
For this excellently-orchestrated and emotionally-expressive score, the Maestro availed himself of the best soloists (as usual) which he conducted with his typical mastery.
The CD is presented in a jewel case with a 12-page booklet designed by Alessio Iannuzzi, mastering by Claudio Fuiano and liner notes (in Italian and English) by Filippo de Masi. A stylish and classy score...surely 24-karat!
