World Premiere CD Release. Remastered limited edition of 300 units.
8-page CD booklet with French and English liner notes by Gilles Loison.
In collaboration with Warner Chappell Music France, Music Box Records presents the fourteenth volume of its collection Les Grandes Musiques du Petit Écran, dedicated to two original soundtracks for television series composed and conducted by Claude Bolling: Dossiers: danger immédiat (1977) and Claudine (1978).
This new release devoted to Claude Bolling's television music once again demonstrates his chameleon-like talent, able to move from spy intrigue to the romanticism of a young woman breaking with convention.
In Dossiers: danger immédiat, Claude Barma portrays the new vampires: modern criminals who steal commercial secrets. Facing them, a few investigative agencies try to resist. Featuring Anna Karina, Pierre Santini and William Sabatier, Claude Bolling delivers an implacable, brass-driven theme, coloured with concrete music and lighter motifs. This was his first collaboration with the director, preceding Le Clan and Renseignements généraux (two scores also available on Music Box Records).
In the Claudine series, adapted from Colette by Danièle Thompson and directed by Édouard Molinaro with Marie-Hélène Breillat, Bolling captures the nostalgia of childhood and the delicacy of relationships. Honky-tonk piano, oboe, violin and ternary rhythms create a world that is both enchanting and melancholic.
These two scores, produced in the same period, have been selected and remastered from the original masters. The CD comes with an 8-page booklet with liner notes by Gilles Loison, discussing the series and the scores. The CD release is limited to 300 units.
