Digitmovies proudly releases for the very first time on CD the complete OST by Carlo Savina for the western movie "Anche nel West c'era una volta dio" (aka "Between God, the Devil and a Winchester", "Entre dios y el diablo") directed in 1968 by Marino Girolami (under the pseudonym Dario Silvestri) and starring Gilbert Roland, Richard Harrison, Folco Lulli, Dominique Boschero. Bob Ford, a man on the run with the map of a hidden treasure which he had stolen from his former crime partners, has enough time to hide it before dying. Then the map is found by Tommy, a child, but suddenly stolen again by a mysterious individual. A group sets out to search for the treasure - among them Tommy, his uncle Pink and the Mexican Ceralbo -, all led by Chasquito. They willl be able to bypass the gang on the trail of the precious plunder and to rescue it. Only one track was issued on the album "Savina's Western" (BAM BLP 105), here Tr.20, but we also include the film version of the same theme (Tr.4). For this CD with a duration of 39:53 we have used the mono master tapes of the original session, but we could include one track in full stereo (Tr.9) for which we could find the elements recorded separately. Carlo Savina has written an orchestral OST with modern arrangements, where an epic main theme with Spanish flavour introduced by the famous voice of Raul (Tr.1) is featured. It is then reprised in Tr.6, Tr.8, Tr.10,Tr.12, alternated with mysterious and a bit psychedelic atmospheres as in Tr.3,Tr.5,Tr.7, Tr.11,Tr.13. This CD wants to pay tribute to the music art of Carlo Savina and to be a proper rescue and preservation of the Italian Silver Age.
