BUYSOUNDTRAX Records presents the original soundtrack to BROTHERS AT WAR, featuring music composed and conducted by Lee Holdridge for the 2009 documentary directed by Jake Rademacher and produced by Norman S. Powell, Jake Rademacher, Gary Sinise, Jon Voight, David Scantling and Kristi Wuttig.
BROTHERS AT WAR is an intimate portrait of an American family during a turbulent time in our nation's history. Jake Rademacher sets out to understand the experience, sacrifice and motivation of his two brothers serving in Iraq. Often humorous but sometimes downright lethal, BROTHERS AT WAR is a remarkable journey where Jake embeds with combat units in Iraq, allowing him unprecedented access to U.S. and Iraqi combat units along the Syrian border, into the Sunni Triangle and through raging gun battles with the Iraqi Army as Jake risks everything, including his own life, to tell his brothers' story. Ultimately, the film provides a rare look at the bonds and service of our soldiers on the frontlines and the profound effects their service has on the loved ones they leave behind.
For BROTHERS AT WAR, the producers were looking for a composer who could provide music that would compliment this exciting and terrifying journey to the edges of a modern battlefield but could also switch gears and navigate through the terrain of intimate family relationships. They chose Lee Holdridge, a composer with a history of delicately highlighting the emotional moments of his subjects in a subtle manner. For the film, the composer has written a intimate acoustic score, augmented by strings, guitar and piano, including a song written and performed by John Ondrasik, based on the main theme.
