Billed as a "remix" of the original silent classic, the updated version of The Cabinet Of Dr. Caligari (2006) features backgrounds scanned from an original 35mm print combined with brand-new green screen footage of actors including Doug Jones (Hellboy, Pan's Labyrinth and Rise of the Silver Surfer) as the sinister sleepwalker "Cesare." This classic tale takes place in the eerily beautiful, expressionistic world of the German original. This independent production won three Screamfest awards: Special Effects, Cinematography the coveted Audence Award. It later won a Saturn Award for Best DVD Release. The original score composed by Eban Schletter (previously known for his work in TV comedy and animation) features The Section Quartet (previously known for their interpretations of modern popular music).
