Francis Girod (1944-2006) directed LA BANQUIERE (Aka LA BANCHIERA, THE LADY BANKER) in 1980, starring a cast of all French stars as Romy Schneider, Jean-Louis Trintignant, Jean-Claude Brialy, and Claude Brasseur. The film tells the true story of Marthe Hanau (1886-1935), named ""Madame 8%"", who was featured on the French newspapers for an entire decade (1925-1935), because of her success in small savings and in securities trading on the stock exchange market. The last publication of this OST was done by GDM on CD at the end of the 90s and contained a bonus track in addition to the 11 tracks that were already been published by General Music on LP (1980). In fact, only 7 songs (about 18:21) belonged to the OST de LA BANQUIERE, while the other 4 were from the film IL GIUDICE E IL SUO BOIA (the judge and his executioner) (1975 and were probably used for reasons of recording rights. This new version CD, with more than 20 minutes of extra musical material obtained from the stereo master original tapes of the session, does not contains the 4 alien tracks. Ennio Morricone has created not only one of the best OST of all his long career but also the most fascinating romantic main theme: DEDICACE (Aka DEDICA, DEDICATION), performed, accompanied by the orchestra, by solo violin Franco Tamponi and solo piano Arnaldo Graziosi, with alternates of tension music, waltz classical flavor and numerous pieces of dancing music Foxtrot and Charleston.
