AKA: Detective privato... anche troppo (Italy)
Ein Liebenswerter Schatten (West Germany)
Sentimentalement vôtre (France)
The Public Eye (USA)
The last film directed by Sir Carol Reed ("The Third Man") starred Mia Farrow, Topol and Michael Jayston which tells the strange tale of a straight-laced English husband who believes his wife is being unfaithful. This delightful farce, based on Peter Shaffer's stage play "The Public Eye", is a showcase for some of the more bizarrelynamed locations in and around London. Previously, only available as an LP from Japan, John Barry's hauntingly beautiful score is a perfect accompaniment to this romantic comedy. As usual, Harkit comes up trumps with an-depth booklet showcasing the stars and background to the movie.
