AKA: Bi-mong
Dream (International) (English title)
Maverick director Kim Ki Duk continues to employ his idiosyncratic arthouse formula, proven auspicious in his earlier works 3-Iron, Samaritan Girl, and Breath, in his latest film starring Japanese actor Odagiri Joe and Korean actress Lee Na Young. Dream (a.k.a Bi-Mong) takes place in the ambiguous realm where dreams and reality intertwine. Odagiri Joe portrays a lovelorn man whose dreams are hauntingly played out in real life by a sleepwalking woman (Lee Na Young). As events oscillate profusely between the two states of consciousness, the two characters somehow find a way to connect to each other's heartbeats. The soundtrack of Dream comes with 23 tracks including score instrumentals and seven original songs inspired by the film from composer Park Ji Woong who also previously composed music for Samaritan Girl and Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter... and Spring.
