German director Harald Reinl turned the book into a documentary film breaking box office records not only in Europe but also in the United States, where it was released to Grindhouses and Drive-Ins by Sun International Productions. Peter "Space Patrol" Thomas's exciting score combines magnificent orchestral themes with the jazzy, rhythmic touch so typical for the composer. The track "Stars and Rockets" has become a cult favorite among Rare Groove DJs around the world.
