Ashes of Time is the legendary martial arts film by Hong Kong film auteur Wong Kar Wai that was originally released in 1994. Fifteen years after he first worked on the film, Wong revisited this loose adaptation of Jin Yong's classic wuxia novel The Eagle-Shooting Heroes, and created the definitive version with new digital effects, new music, and a new edit that improves the narrative. Titled Ashes of Time Redux, The new version debuted at the Cannes Film Festival in 2008, and is now globally re-released. The new soundtrack features original music by Frankie Chan and Roel A. Garcia, with additional score and re-arrangement by instrumentalist Wu Tong and cello solos by internationally renowned musician Yo-Yo Ma.
