Master Berto Pisano belongs to that class of Italian composers who despite having always worked prolifically and generously do not enjoy the due recognition.
In the period from 1960 to 1980 Pisano often composed memorable soundtracks of superior quality compared to films themselves. The style of Maestro Pisano was similar to that of some of his fellow composers who were very active during the same period of time, such as Gianni Marchetti, Stelvio Cipriani, Franco Micalizzi, Nico Fidenco, Piero Piccioni and Gianni Ferrio.
Maestro Pisano made use of pop sounds and rhythmic uptempo for many of the soundtracks he composed, and he merged those styles with other broader sounds styles, sometimes including also jazz. His scores highlight sensitively the scenes of the films but, very often, they live their own separate lives. Pisano composed many soundtracks and recently European film music collectors raised him among the first favorites. Finally Master Pisano is rightly appreciated for his beautiful scores, and not only as a competent music arranger.
