Digitmovies rerelease on CD the original motion picture soundtrack by Guido & Maurizio De Angelis from the movie "The tiger is still alive: Sandokan to the rescue" ("La tigre è ancora viva: Sandokan alla riscossa").
SOUNDTRACK
At that time a 45 rpm single was issued (Rca BB 6135) featuring two tracks, for this CD we have used the stereo master tapes found in the Rca vaults. After a slow and solemn strings introduction of the "Sandokan theme", the new main theme is presented, for big orchestra and of epic flavour called "Ritorno a Mompracem" (Tr.1). This theme is reprised with several variations: with mandola and strings (Tr.6), slow and mystic (Tr.11, Tr.14), flute a bec solo (Tr.16), with flute, mandola and bells (Tr.18), in a heroic version (Tr.19) and in vocal version (Tr.21). The score is also enriched with very rhythmic action music like Tr.2, Tr.8, Tr.13, Tr.20, others of ethnic flavour (Tr.5, Tr.9, Tr.10). The Sandokan theme is reprised with an atonal way with reverberated harps in Tr.4 and Tr.12 and in its original version with a strings intro (Tr.22). As bonus track we have included the off vocal version of the theme song (Tr.23). Although a digital restoration occurred some audio anomalies (pre-existing on the original sources) remain.
