The plot of the movie talks about Margaret, a famous and cruel actress used to be served by people around her. One day she takes in her staff Silvia, a dreaming girl that patiently follows her mistress and even adimires her. The actress understands that there could be something insane in her relationship with Silvia and sells her at an auction like a slave! A weird story with psychedelic athmoshperes, with costumes similar to the Star Treck series and with the wonderful music of Piero Piccioni, one of the best composer in the international scene. 1969 Cinevox published an album (MDF 33/24), printed again March 1996 only in Japan by the label SLC (SLCS-7161) and recently, always in Japan a Vinyl in limited quantity. This is the first Italian offical press on CD. ""Scacco alla regina"" is a lounge OST at 360?, were Piero Piccioni makes use of Edda Dell'Orso, the crystal voice of Italian cinema, that here is one of the most important instrument of the orchestra. A soundtrack that features danceable themes, bossanova, romantic sounds some times more mellifluous and some other time more adrenalinic. For this music we used the original 1969 STEREO tapes and a lot of unreleased cues have been added, in particular two most rare songs based on the two main themes both singed and instrumental. For all of those who love Maestro Piero Piccioni, this CD is like a Check Mate!
